What’s On in APRIL 2018 at South Ham Library?
Join us every Saturday morning for drop in fun from 10am-midday. All activities are free of charge. We request that children under 10 are accompanied by an adult. Lego and Board Games will be available each Saturday on request but on 1st Saturday Craft 7th April there will be a Caterpillar Craft. During the School Holidays we will have a Spring Treasure Hunt – come and see who/what is hiding in the library.
During the week Story Time continues to be held at 10:30 am on TUESDAYS. Come and join us for stories and themed colouring. Construction Club is held after school on Tuesdays, with the opportunity to play with Lego and Duplo from 3:30pm-4:45pm every week.
A New term of Code club will start again after Easter on the 25th April for 10 weeks please contact us on 01256 336047 if you would like to reserve a place for a 9-11 year old who would like to learn Scratch coding. We have a great range of coding books and don’t forget our BBC Micro:bits which are available for a 4 week loan.
Chatterbooks reading group for primary aged children will be held on Friday, 20th April at 4pm with craft and book activities linked with and at the same time our T.R.@.S.H. group (Teen Reading @ South Ham) will hold a meeting for those at secondary school who love books – come and be part of this exciting venture.. Both Chatterbooks and T.R.@S.H. would love to welcome new members, pop into the library or contact us via our Facebook page to find out more.
We had lots of lovely visits from the children from St Anne’s Catholic Primary School who joined us during February and March to celebrate world Book Day, We welcome visits from all schools, playgroups and uniformed organisations, please contact the library if you would like to arrange a visit.
Rhymetime continues every Friday with fun rhymes and songs at 11am for babies and toddlers.
Activities for adults this month include the Genesis Sci-Fi Reading Group on the 3rd and 31st March from 10:00am-12:00 noon and Age Concern continue to provide computer instruction for the over 50s on Tuesdays from 10:00am-1:00pm; for more information or an appointment call 01256423874.

Don’t forget we have 4 computers giving access to the internet and Microsoft office software, a scanner and colour printer and photocopier. The computers are free to use but there are charges for printing. We also have FREE access online to Ancestry, Find my Past, Which? Magazine Online and the British Newspaper Archive Online. Ask a member of staff for help getting started.
Also by joining the library you can access hundreds of ebooks, audiobooks on your smartphone, tablet or home computer through our NEW Libby App which is even easier to use than Overdrive and magazines through RB Digital.
