The Immanuel Big Knit!
Can you knit or crochet? Would you like to use your skill to help Immanuel Church make blankets for refugees? Read on…
Through an online community called Woolly Hugs, Immanuel Church are launching an initiative to provide homemade knitted blankets for refugees. Woolly Hugs have groups of people affiliated to them who knit or crochet squares which are then joined together to make lovely colourful blankets which are distributed where needed, all over the UK and the rest of the world! In addition to blankets, they also welcome donations of homemade knitted hats, mittens, gloves, cardigans and jumpers of any size, for adults or children.
Until the end of September, we will be holding The Immanuel Big Knit! and would like to ask those that can, to knit or crochet squares and put them in the collection tub at the back of the church. We will then sort them by colour/pattern and join them into lovely blankets. We hope that many of you will get involved in this worthwhile initiative as it is something that we can all do together, and which both young and old can support.
