Relaxed kids? Don’t you wish!
That’s the aim of a class called Relax Kids that is starting at the Hatch Warren Community Centre in March. Run by experienced Relax Kids coach Kath Routledge the purpose is to improve the behaviour of children with better concentration, listening skills, attention span, confidence and self esteem.
The classes are different from others as Kath uses a unique combination of movement, mindful games and exercises, stretching, breathing and massage as well as positive affirmations and visualisations. This allows children to have fun but also learn vital life skills that will help them for years to come.
Relax Kids use relaxation techniques to help children recognise their strengths and manage their emotional journey through life. This provides a toolbox of skills which the children learn to be calm under pressure at a young age which stands them in good stead through adulthood.
“The benefits to the children are substantial” says Kath. “As well as supporting their mental health in calming their attitude, it improves their concentration and focus, creates better memory retention while reducing stress and tension and boosts positive thinking and stimulates imagination and creativity”.
Starting on Tuesday 7th March from 4.15 – 5.15 p.m. at HWCC this class, for years R – 6, will meet each week thereafter for the half term and costs £30. Even as the Rabbiter went to press this class was already fully booked with ten children but interested parents can book for the Easter half term and those school days beyond – see www.bookwhen.com/rkbasingstoke or email on rkbasingstoke@yahoo.co.uk or phone Kath on 07989 476533.
