New Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner at Neighbourhood Watch AGM
Neighbourhood Watch AGM takes place Tuesday 23 April 2013 6PM – 8PM in the Council Chambers Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council offices, London Road, Basingstoke. All members and their guests welcome.
Hosting the event is Tony Tuck, Chairman Basingstoke & Deane NHW, Tony is also Area Coordinator NHW for Old Basing & Lychpit, Independent Advisory Group Member of Hampshire Constabulary, North Hants Community Safety Partnership Member, and Community Tasking Group addressing community safety issues focusing resources with Police and partners in Basingstoke.
The leader of B&DBC Clive Sanders will open with total support to NHW within the community addressing safety issues and the support currently undertaken by NHW.
Guest speaker is first Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes who will explain the importance of NHW being the eyes and ears of the police. Simon will outline cuts experienced within the constabulary regarding manpower and will address crime issues. There will be an opportunity to have frank dialog and to ask questions followed by a chat with coordinators/police officers of all ranks/borough officials and county officers over Tea and Coffee.
Basingstoke District Police Commander, Chief Inspector, Steven Wallace will outline policing and the very latest crime data numbers in our borough with latest updates. Steven is very supportive of NHW and communication with NHW is first class.
A Speedwatch presentation will follow detailing the new speed measures in the borough. Old Basing & Lychpit Parish have purchased equipment which is staffed by volunteers vetted by Police.
Finally, Brian Adams committee member volunteer working in Basingstoke Police Station and supporting our area and street coordinators will provide the latest information and support for our NHW web, address: http://www.bdnw.org.uk/2012/ Brian provides weekly updates with links to police, fire, B&DBC, Trading Standards scams reported plus fraud links information – a free valuable web tool.
