HW&B Cycling
After a couple of test-runs, the first, formal cycle of the newly formed Hatch Warren & Beggarwood Cycling Club took place on Sunday 13th September. Over 20 cyclists of varying degree of pace gathered at St Mark’s School, hoping that the rain would stay away.
Those gathered divided into two; those that wanted a faster pace and those wanting a gentler pace. The aim all along in creating the club has been to form a club for the community and to attract all comers, whatever their pace. The first group completed the cycle at an average 15mph, with those opting for a gentler pace completing the 20 mile circuit at an average of 10mph.
The Club will have a longer route every other week when it meets on a Saturday morning at 9am. There will be the option of a 20 or 40 mile ride, the latter at a moderate pace.
The Club meet alternate Sunday afternoons/Saturday mornings at St Mark’s School car park. Full details of the routes and rules/etiquette can be found on the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1476015042715709/
