Auction of Promises
I’m sure you will have heard by now about the Auction of Promises to be held on Saturday 3rd October 7–10.30pm at North Waltham School. There is still time to buy tickets for this sought-after evening, so please get in touch!
The Auction promises to be a fantastic event. Tickets cost £10, which includes a fish and chip supper from Oliver’s in Old Basing and a homemade dessert, and you are invited to bring your own wine and beer. The lots available range from cakes, gourmet meals, taxi services and photography to those that money can’t buy such as a ride on a combine harvester or steam engine, and a tour around the Fyffe’s banana factory! This wide variety means there is something to suit all budgets. Why not get a table together with friends and relatives, for a really enjoyable evening?
The auction is in aid of Cuckoo Meadow Preschool and North Waltham Youth Club, both of which provide a vital service to both North Waltham and the surrounding area. What you may not realise, however, is that the Preschool is a charity and relies heavily on fundraising in order to provide the children (aged 2–4) with toys, books, outdoor games and other necessary equipment. The Youth Club is run by volunteers and takes place every Friday evening with a busy timetable of fun activities. It also relies on fundraising and donations, as well as volunteers.
Both the Preschool and Youth Club help to make North Waltham the vibrant community that it is, and provide valuable opportunities and resources for its children and young people. Please support your community by coming to the Auction, and have the chance to purchase an experience you may never forget!
