Tree-mendous news!
The Basingstoke Lions Club has responded to the call to action regarding the Woodland Trust’s partnership with the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) project in celebration of HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Recognising that to do so would be very relevant to the Lions’ work for the community, the Club applied for a package of 30 saplings for which, after much investigation, suitable sites were found.
This will result in the saplings (Rowans, Wild Cherry, and Silver Birch) being scattered about Basingstoke at locations that, amongst others, will include two hospitals, several schools, colleges and various parks. Where wished a commemorative plaque will record the event and/or recipients may choose to detail the planting on QGC’s ‘Virtual Map’

Either way, we can take pride in having done our bit for the community that “we serve” (our motto)!
